They first met in 1975 during one of Jackson's family engagements at the MGM Grand, 7-year-old Presley attended several of his shows in Las Vegas.

They were reconnected through a mutual friend in early 1993.

They announced their split 20 months later.

Music icon Michael Jackson, whose fame spanned from his childhood with the legendary Jackson 5 to a superstar solo career that earned him the nickname 'King of Pop', died Thursday afternoon at a Los Angeles hospital. He was 50. Multiple reports said he had gone into cardiac arrest.

Michael Jackson Wanted to 'Go Out Like Elvis Presley'

Michael Jackson had previously said he wanted to 'go out like Elvis' when he died, according to pal Deepak Chopra. Chopra, 62, revealed that his son went on tour with the King of Pop: 'My son Gotham traveled with Michael as a roadie on his Dangerous tour when he was 13. It sends a shiver to recall something he told Gotham: 'I don't want to go out like Marlon Brando. I want to go out like Elvis'.
