From 'That's All Right' to 'A Little Less Conversation' in his famous version JXL radio edit remix, this compilation gathers a total of 31 hits that summarize the complete trajectory of one of the great icons of the 20th century. 'Heartbreak Hotel', 'Hound Dog', 'Don't Be Cruel', 'King Creole', 'Are You Lonesome Tonight?', 'Can't Help Falling In Love', 'Viva Las Vegas', 'In The Ghetto', 'Suspicious minds'... all the songs that, interpreted by Elvis Aaron Presley with so much emotion, are now great classics in the collective imagination of several generations.
As Johnny from Burning explains, it is impossible to forget the sensations of when one first hears Elvis. 'I still feel that chill', he writes in the booklet that accompanies the compilation. 'Elvis is, for me, the beginning of everything. He did not invent rock, but without him it would have been a passing phenomenon and almost forgotten', says journalist José Ramón Pardo. Ricardo Ruipérez, of M-Clan, says that 90% of the great rock artists of the twentieth century wanted to resemble Elvis at some point. 'But no one got it'. Bruce Springsteen himself has once stated that 'If it were not for him, I would be selling encyclopedias right now' and even the recently deceased David Bowie admitted that he was 'one of my greatest heroes'.
Marta Vázquez, the morning voice on Rock FM, also writes about the album as she recalls the sensations that invaded her when she discovered him at age six. 'It was like putting it [the record] on and automatically feel something that I had never felt with any other artist before'. At that moment she became aware that her story with music and the universe of Elvis 'had just begun'. And she explains how it is possible to feel nostalgia of an era, the one of the king of the rock, that she did not live. 'The answer is in this album and in its songs, the same ones that my parents listened to, the ones I'm enjoying throughout my life and those my children will enjoy too'.
